Deadly Fire

The Red Cross and the Salvation Army in Kalamazoo are pooling their resources after a deadly fire in Texas Township. Four children…ages three to six, died in the fire early Saturday. A five year old boy and a 22-year old woman were critically injured. Whitney Funeral Home has offered to provide funeral services at no cost to the families. Investigators have not determined the cause of the fire and are still looking for evidence of a working smoke detector. Officials say it may be the worst fire-related tragedy in the history of Kalamazoo County.
