Energy Prices In Michigan
Michigan residents are using less electricity, gasoline, and natural gas. We're expected to continue to use less as well. Electricity rates are likely to rise however, while gasoline and natural gas rates stay steady or drop for the rest of the year. The reason is because Consumer’s Energy and Detroit Edison are asking for higher rates. That means your electric bills will probably go up despite the pull back on electricity usage. The Michigan Public Service Commission's summer energy appraisal says energy demand will probably continue to decline for the rest of this year. Prices at the pump should remain steady around $2 to $2.15 per gallon and natural gas prices will likely go down a little.
