Stabbing And Arrest
One man is in the hospital with serious wounds and another is in jail after an attempted murder and robbery Tuesday. Battle Creek Police say a cab driver was attacked by a knife-wielding robber in the 300 block of Riverside just before 5PM. The driver said his fare wouldn’t pay, then demanded money and began stabbing him when he refused. He suffered multiple stab wounds to the face and chest. The suspect took the cab, but was arrested a short time later. 24-year old Anthony Boards of Battle Creek reportedly confessed to the crime. He faces charges of Attempted Murder, Armed Robbery and car theft.
