Shooting Ruled Self Defense

A fatal shooting in Kalamazoo has been ruled self defense. Investigators say 20-year old Bernell Gordon was assaulting and attempting to rob Frank Pierce at the Fox Ridge Apartments on March 6th when Pierce shot and killed him. The county prosecutor says the shooter won’t be charged in the death, but he will face other charges. Pierce could get up to five years in prison for being a felon in possession of a firearm and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.
