Crash Victim Name Released

Police have released the name of the Battle Creek man killed in a Monday car crash in Pennfield Township. The county’s accident reconstruction team says 22-year old Mark Starks Jr. was driving South on Bellevue Road near Gorsline when he suddenly veered off the road and hit a tree. Emergency crews responded but he was declared dead at the scene. Police say speed and road conditions were factors in the accident.
