Jobs For Movers

Wyoming is proving to be a strong job market for residents of Michigan and other states feeling the brunt of the economic recession. Wyoming has had the nation's lowest unemployment rate for four months running. In February, Wyoming's unemployment rate was 3.9 percent. By comparison, Michigan had the nation's highest jobless rate at 12 percent. Ruben Garcia is among the Michiganians who relocated to Wyoming after losing his job. The 52-year-old former Bay City resident has a good-paying job with generous retirement benefits as a correctional officer at the state women's prison. Wyoming's corrections department has hired 179 people from Michigan alone since 2006.
