Fatal Crash

Calhoun County Sheriff’s Deputies say a 22-year old Battle Creek man died in a single car crash Monday in Pennfield Township. Officers were called to Bellevue Road just of Gorsline Road just after noon. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. His name was not released. The Accident Reconstruction Team says it appears the vehicle was southbound on Bellevue Road, when it left the roadway and struck a tree. Police say speed may have been a factor in the crash, which is still under investigation.
