Sailor Killed

A 37-year-old sailor from the Flint area has died in combat in Afghanistan. The Department of Defense says Navy Petty Officer Ross Toles the Third of Davison died Wednesday of wounds suffered in a rocket attack in northern Paktika province. Also killed in the attack was Navy Hospitalman Marc Retmier, a 19-year-old from Hemet, California. Both he and Toles were assigned to Provincial Reconstruction Team Sharana in Afghanistan.
