Disaster Areas
Storm damage is prompting Governor Granholm to declare a state of emergency in five more Michigan counties. Granholm yesterday declared a state of emergency in Lake, Manistee, Osceola, Ottawa and Wexford counties. The declarations authorize the use of state resources to help deal with immediate threats to public health and safety related to the severe weather that's hit those areas this month. Granholm earlier declared a state of emergency in Lansing and Saginaw along with Allegan, Eaton and Mason counties.
