Jarvis Sentenced

A Springfield daycare provider who gave a baby a fatal dose of prescription medicine has been sent to prison. Ruth Ann Jarvis was sentenced to seven to 15 years Thursday. The 49-year old was convicted of Involuntary Manslaughter and Second Degree Child Abuse in the death of Damien Lewis. Investigators say the five-month old died last September when Jarvis gave him an adult dose of the sleep aid Ambien.
