School Debate
Parents of students at Pleasantview Elementary in Lacey are stepping up their opposition of a plan to close the school. Some are threatening a recall effort against any school board member voting to close Pleasantview. District officials say closing the school would save money and jobs. But opponents argue the district would lose more money in per pupil funding due to the number of students whose parents would transfer them. The school board is set to vote on the budget, including the school closure plan on Monday.
