Bible Banned

A high school co-valedictorian removed Bible verses from his commencement speech at the request of school officials. But the class president didn't. West Ottawa Public Schools officials say they won't discipline Andrew Webster for adding several Bible verses to his speech without their knowledge. Jed Grooters had been told he wouldn't be allowed to address the West Ottawa High School Class of 2008 if he included Scripture. The district's lawyer had said allowing Grooters to read the biblical passages would violate the constitutional separation of church and state.
