Moore Pleads

A Kalamazoo City Commissioner accused of interfering with Battle Creek Police avoided trial by entering a plea deal Tuesday. Stephanie Moore pleaded no contest to Attempted Resisting and Obstructing Police, just before her trial was to begin. Moore, who has a previous criminal record, was arrested last December after police say she interfered with officers trying to make an arrest at the holiday basketball tournament. As part of the plea deal, Moore has to write letters of apology to Battle Creek Central and to the officer involved in the incident. She could still get a year in jail at her sentencing next month.
