Money For Battle Creek

Battle Creek State Representative Kate Segal has announced nearly 2-million dollars for neighborhood stabilization. Michigan State Housing Development Authority grants from the Federal Housing and Economic Recovery Act will be used to renovate eight properties that are either abandoned or in foreclosure. They will also pay for the demolition of 72 blighted or vacant properties. Segal says the grants will promote future development and make the community safer, stronger and healthier.
