A top Democrat senator wants independent investigators to determine whether any Bush administration officials should be prosecuted for authorizing harsh interrogation techniques of suspected terrorists. Michigan Sen. Carl Levin says no politicians should be involved in making decisions about prosecutions. Levin heads the Senate Armed Services Committee, which came out with a report detailing the history of harsh interrogation techniques authorized under President George W. Bush. President Barack Obama has said Attorney General Eric Holder would determine whether anyone in the Bush administration broke the law by developing a legal pretext for the interrogations.
