Fatal Crash

A Jackson County man will spend up to 20-years in prison for leaving his fiancée to die after crashing his motorcycle. 48-year old Richard Pickett claimed he didn’t recall much about the fatal crash, but he was convicted of failing to stop at an accident, resulting in serious impairment or death. A witness said after the crash, Pickett got up, asked Bonnie Lynn Arnett to come with him, then rode away without her as she lay bleeding to death. He could be out of prison in as little as four years.
