Two Fatal Crashes

An elderly woman from Kent County was killed Saturday afternoon while riding in a golf cart. 80-year-old Ruth Sarniak of Lowell was crossing the road at around 4:30 when a vehicle came upon her too quickly resulting in a crash. Speed and alcohol are not believed to be factors in the accident. Coincidently, another fatal accident happened not too far from the site of the golf cart accident Friday night. Kent County Sheriff's are investigating the death of an individual who crashed into a tree around 11:00pm. There were no other occupants in the vehicle and the driver was wearing a seat belt. Police haven’t released the victim’s name.
