Two Separate Building Fires
Two separate fires at vacant properties in Kalamazoo are being investigated. Both happened Saturday morning and one of them is believed to be arson. A vacant building on West Michigan Avenue that used to be a nursing home was apparently set on fire. The blaze was contained and fire-fighters put it out quickly. Evidence at the scene was found to suggest the fire was intentional. Early Saturday morning, fire destroyed a vacant home on Woodward Avenue in Kalamazoo. Heavy smoke and fire damage on the first and second floors of the house left it a total loss. The cause of that blaze is currently undetermined and there’s no evidence yet of any link between the two fires.
