Two Rescued from Kalamazoo Fire
Public Safety officials in Kalamazoo are looking into a fire after a mother and daughter had to be rescued. Crews were called to Village Apartments on Lilac Lane around 4:30 AM Sunday. A ladder truck rescued a 43-year-old woman and her 8-year-old daughter from a third floor balcony after they were trapped by smoke. The flames were quickly put out, so damage was limited to the exterior stairwell and walls. No injuries were reported, and no residents were displaced. There’s no word on the cause of the fire.
