The Michigan Catastrophic Claims Association tacked on an additional $20 fee for motorists in hope of better funding a program that assists accident victims with serious injuries. The new rate will hover right around $125 per vehicle. Motorists will see this increase on their annual insurance bill. This increase will have Michigan motorists paying $2 more than they did two years ago, as the MCCA reduced the charge by $18 last year. The fee will rise beginning July 1. Currently, Michigan is the only state to offer unlimited lifetime medical benefits for anyone seriously injured in a car accident.
