Abuse Death

A judge has ruled there is sufficient evidence for a Kalamazoo man to stand trial in the death of his infant son. Four-month old Christian Holmes died in October, about a month after he was admitted to the hospital, suffering from injuries consistent with shaken baby syndrome. Mannie Holmes brought the baby to the hospital, saying he was unresponsive. He faces one count of felony murder involving child abuse, which carries a mandatory life sentence upon conviction.
