Former Local Judge Passes Away

A former local Judge has passed away. Shelton Penn served as a judge for the 10th district from 1975-1990. He was chief judge from 1984 to 1988. The UofM law school graduate was also a WW2 veteran, having served in Italy. Judge Penn lived in Battle Creek for many years after retiring from the bench before moving to Arizona. A memorial service is planned for Wednesday at the Desert Palms Presbyterian Church in Sun City West, AZ.
