Apartment Fire

Everyone escaped safely after fire broke out early Tuesday morning at a Battle Creek apartment building. The Arbors is a single building complex just off Capital Avenue SW that houses some 20 people. Fire crews were called at 3:15AM and had the fire out in about a half hour. A resident noticed the flames and called 9-1-1, then alerted sleeping residents. The Red Cross is helping people find temporary housing. Investigators are trying to determine the exact cause of the fire.
