School Cuts
A Calhoun County school district is cutting some jobs and extracurricular activities in an effort to balance the budget. Athens Area Schools are eliminating two high school teaching and two administrative positions. They are also cutting golf and cheerleading. The district is facing a 382-thousand dollar deficit, due to declining enrollment and rising costs.
