Cab Driver Recovers

Battle Creek cab driver, David Hebbler has been upgraded to fair condition at a Kalamazoo hospital as he recovers from multiple stab wounds. He was attacked late Tuesday afternoon by 24-year old Anthony Boards of Battle Creek. Police say Boards admitted trying to rob Hebbler and then stabbing him repeatedly when he resisted. He was arraigned Wednesday on charges of Attempted Murder, Armed Robbery and Carjacking. Meanwhile, City Cab is taking steps to protect its drivers. Before this most recent attack, the company had ordered separation screens like those used in police cars.
