A research firm in Mattawan reportedly may cut hundreds of jobs. About 100 employees at MPI Research were told on Tuesday that they were being laid off. There’s been no official announcement, but reports say there could be up to 360 layoffs, due to the ongoing financial crisis. This comes just months after MPI announced a major expansion in downtown Kalamazoo that is supposed to bring in three to four hundred new jobs. Those plans are now delayed.
