Baby Saved

A Muskegon Heights woman has been sentenced to eight to 15 years in prison for trying to poison her baby daughter with bleach and a cleaning solution. Judge Timothy Hicks of Muskegon County Circuit Court sentenced 19-year-old Shatara Jones Monday. She pleaded guilty May 30 to a felony charge of poisoning. Jones and her 1-year-old girl lived with Jones' mother. The baby's grandmother told police that on two occasions she stopped Jones from poisoning the child.
