Armed Standoff

A hostage situation ended peacefully after a two-and-a-half hour standoff in Kalamazoo Thursday morning. Police were called to the 200 block of North Sage just after 4AM on a report of a man pointing a gun at people. When police arrived, the suspect barricaded himself in his house with a hostage. A SWAT team was called to the scene. A negotiator was able to get the suspect to release the hostage, and later the suspect surrendered. The 26-year old man will be charged with Felonious Assault.
