Power Outages

Representatives of Consumers Energy report that as off 7am this morning around 39000 customers remain without power across the state. This amount includes some 1900 homes in Battle Creek and 8500 in Kalamazoo. Crews are expected to have the majority of service restored late this evening, although they caution that people in outlaying areas and the hardest hit neighborhoods may have to wait until Monday. Consumers also says additional storms moving through the area may cause further damage and extend repair times. Residents throughout the listening area should also be aware of flooding and be prepared to move to higher elevations if needed.
