Driver Unidentified In Van Buren Co. Crash

Troopers with the Michigan State Police post in Paw Paw are still trying to identify a man killed in a two-car head-on crash on Thursday night. Troopers responded to County Road 215 in Van Buren County’s Arlington Township to the accident. One of the vehicles caught fire, and investigators say that the driver’s body was burned beyond recognition. The driver of the other vehicle, 21-year-old Ismael Jose of Bloomingdale, remains in critical condition at Bronson Hospital in Kalamazoo. An autopsy is expected to be performed on the unidentified driver this weekend.
